Earth Hour [28 March 2026]
Earth Hour 2026 will take place on Saturday, 28 March 2026, from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. We will be celebrating the 20th year of Earth Hour! During this special global event, people all around the world switch off their non-essential lights to show their care for our planet and to support nature and climate action.
To help our students play their part, we will be inviting them to join Earth Hour by turning off non-essential lights at home for one hour. Students may also capture their experience through photos or videos to share how they spent this meaningful hour. More instructions will be provided to the students through the teachers. We warmly encourage you to take part together with your child/ward, showing he/she how small, simple actions can make a big difference for our Earth.
ACE Week [30 March to 2 Apr 2026]
ACE Week (Apply. Connect. Explore), taking place from 30 March to 2 April 2026, provides students with opportunities to apply their learning in authentic, real-world contexts, make cross subject connections, and explore new ideas with curiosity and confidence. Through these experiences, students strengthen the qualities embodied in our school vision - becoming Adaptive Learners who think flexibly, Bilingual Leaders who communicate confidently, and Caring Contributors who act with empathy and purpose. The programme features enrichment activities that nurture 21st Century Competencies, Character and Citizenship Education outcomes, and positive learning dispositions.
As the regular timetable will be suspended, students do not need to bring their books and may come dressed in their PE attire throughout the week. They should carry only a small bag containing:
• colouring and writing materials
• a storybook
• a water bottle and snacks
International Friendship Day 2026 [6 Apr 2026]
International Friendship Day (IFD) will be commemorated on Monday, 6 April 2026, at HIPS. This year’s theme is Singapore: Forging Friendships in a Complex World. The programme will be conducted in the morning during the Assembly and FTGP periods in the School Hall.
This commemoration aims to deepen students’ understanding of Singapore’s relationships with neighbouring countries and the wider region. It also seeks to raise awareness of the geo-political context in which Singapore operates and to foster a spirit of friendship and cooperation among different nations and communities.
Students are encouraged to come dressed in traditional attire from ASEAN countries such as Malaysia, the Philippines, Myanmar, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Brunei Darussalam, Timor-Leste, or Indonesia. Please note that school shoes must still be worn with the attire. This information is shared early to allow families ample time to prepare for students’ participation.
“Food from the Heart” Donation Drive [5 & 6 May 2026]
To nurture our students as Caring Contributors, our students will once again have the opportunity to participate in the Food from the Heart donation drive on 5 and 6 May 2026. Each year, their generosity and compassion shine through as they contribute items for families in need. This meaningful act of service helps them understand the value of empathy, the impact of giving and encourages them to be active contributors in improving the lives of others.
More information on the donation drive and how students can participate will be shared through a Parents Gateway (PG) letter closer to the date. We look forward to the keenest participation from our students, guided by our school values of Sincerity and Charity!
Parent-Child-Teacher Conference (PCTC) [28 & 29 May 2026]
The Parent Child Teacher Conference (PCTC) for P1 to P6 will be held over two days on 28 and 29 May 2026. This session, conducted either face to face or online, will involve you, your child, and your child’s Form Teachers. During the conference, your child will share his/her learning experiences in school, and we seek your support in attending the session together with your child. Please note that while there will be no lessons on these two days, they will be designated as Blended Learning Days during which students will complete home based learning tasks assigned by their teachers. This conversation allows parents to gain a clearer understanding of their child’s progress, strengths, and areas for development. More details will be shared closer to the date.
Please refer to the PG letters for more information.
Thank you.
